A new promo video from Black Widow celebrates Marvel Studios’ return to theaters after an almost two-year gap between MCU films.
The last Black Widow promotional video celebrates the return of the Marvel films. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become the greatest film franchise of all time over the past decade, with Avengers: Endgame put a record cachet on a 22-movie narrative revolving around the original six Avengers, Thanos, and Infinity Stones. When it came time to kick off Phase 4 of the MCU, however, the initial plan was for Scarlett Johansson to lead the way with the long-awaited solo. Black Widow movie.
Marvel Studios has confirmed its plans for Black Widow directing Phase 4 at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, where the film received an official release date in May 2020. That changed dramatically once COVID-19 became a global pandemic that shut down theaters. Marvel Studios deleted Black Widowthe May 2020 release date and eventually moved it to November 2020. Black Widow is now a week away from its theatrical release, and wonder celebrates the return of the MCU to cinema. A short 15-second video heralds the end of the Marvel movie drought and features some new seconds of footage. Despite Black WidowWith the simultaneous release of Disney +, there has been a lot of attention to the film marking the return of the Marvel movie theatrical experience. The popularity of these films has made the opening nights and weekends of the new MCU movies major and joint events for the huge fanbase. Disney and Marvel have already promoted the upcoming MCU movie roster, so the decision to put more emphasis on the theatrical experience is nice to see. And since this is the first Marvel movie in two years, Black Widow will be greeted with open arms by fans ready to see another MCU adventure on the big screen after months of weekly content on Disney +.
The upcoming release of Black Widow will also kick off a busy year for Marvel films. Marvel Studios’ current roster has seven MCU films set to hit theaters next year, with Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings, Eternals, Spider-Man: No Path Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on the horizon. There will even be an eighth film, Wonders, released by the end of 2022 as well. MCU fans may have struggled to wait for new movies over the past couple of years, but they will have plenty of them next year.
