Country music star Kane Brown not only sings from the heart, but also gives back by supporting a bright future for children and teens at Boys and Girls Clubs.

In recognition of his outstanding commitment to the youth of the club, Brown will receive the prestigious Boys & Girls Clubs of America Champion of Youth Award at the 75th Annual National Youth of the Year Gala on Thursday, October 13, 2022. The Champion of Youth Award Youth is awarded to individuals for exposing beyond service to Boys and Girls Clubs. Previous recipients include NBA star Lebron James, entertainer Jennifer Lopez, Olympic champion Michael Phelps and the late former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Kane Brown’s love for Boys and Girls Clubs was sparked by a firm belief that all children should have a safe place to go after school where people genuinely care about them. When considering his own childhood, Brown remarked that “he wished he could have been in a boys and girls club.”

Brown recently made history as the first male country artist to perform at the VMAs in August 2022, and has always had a passion to serve others. Last fall, he made a generous donation to support the complete renovation of the Boys & Girls Clubs gymnasium at Northeast Ohio’s Broadway Club and joined the Club in celebrating the grand opening in February 2022. Last June, a group of teenagers from Boys & Girls Clubs in the Nashville area also received a special visit from Brown at the start of the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. And throughout his country music career, Brown demonstrates to young people at the Club the power of finding and sharing your unique voice – he dedicated his uplifting 2020 single “Beautiful all over the world” to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to champion justice and equality for young people.

“Since beginning our relationship with Kane Brown, he has shown nothing but unwavering dedication and passion for our mission. He has provided club members with life-changing experiences to help young people reach their full potential,” said Frank Sanchez, National Vice President of Business and Community Affairs, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “From his immense talent to his heart of gold, we look forward to presenting Kane Brown with the award. of the 2022 Youth Champion next month at our 75th Annual National Youth of the Year Gala in Los Angeles.”

The Youth of the Year is Boys and Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program for Club teens and is the highest honor a Club member can receive. For 75 years, the Youth of the Year program and events have recognized young people for outstanding leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to healthy living.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America thanks Kane Brown for his unwavering commitment to providing safe places, caring mentors and life-enhancing programs for young Americans.
