Google Play Store’s new ‘Deals’ tab highlights deals on apps, movies and more


Google launched a Deals tab for the Play Store featuring deals on apps, games, movies, books, and other purchases, android font reported. It appears at the bottom of the Reading screen, along with Games, Apps, Movies & TV, and Books, separately from the existing “Offers & Notifications” section.

“[Offers is] a new tab in the Google Play Store app to help you discover game and app deals in travel, shopping, media and entertainment, fitness, and more. “Google said in a blog post. When you tap the tab, it brings up several of the carousels with deals on movie rentals, apps, games, and more. It includes sales on items from game, in-app purchases and offers app trials, android font Noted.

Google had a separate Android app called “Deals” that let you find deals in your current location, but that was in 2011 with Android 2.1 “Eclair” when Google Play was called Android Market. Its current “Deals & Notifications” section on Play is sparse and not so easy to find, while the new tab is front and center covering a wide range of products. The Deals tab is already rolling out in the US, India, and Indonesia, and will be coming to other markets later this year.
