It’s finally starting to feel like winter. It’s cold, people get sick, and touring bands avoid the mountains. Fear not though, there are still a variety of events going on this weekend that are sure to get you moving. That is to say if you are not sick (safety first!).

vultures will begin doing a Wednesday “Industry Night” with a guest DJ each week. This week he will be DJ by a hip-hop hustler known as Ears. The black sheep will also be there this weekend, from Friday 21st with a special show by big local names! Denver/Springs Metalcore Outfit MNMLST will perform alongside a full lineup – post-hardcore of For a long time, Chateau, Atlas//Below and Ovira and the math rock sounds of semi-fiction.

The following night, Saturday, January 22, brings a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle that you’re sure to never forget as the Boise Masked Trio magic sword bring their special synth-laden electronic music to the Black Sheep stage. For music and comic book fans, Magic Sword isn’t just a band. Their music takes us on a journey with graphic novels/comics supporting the theme of music. Each of their albums comes with a corresponding novel/comic. Come see this band play, fully cloaked in 8-bit excellence! You can also stop next door at Vultures for Minneapolis indie pop. bad bad hats with Ophelia.

Light one up and skate to the Sheep on Sunday the 23rd for the Californian reggae/punk sensation Zero Authority. Alternative rockers will also bring the vibe that night Sun letters, happy slap and skank williams. And if you fancy something a little wilder, you can head to Shelter CR23 in Pueblo for the crazy grind of Sonic puke, lung burn and Velociriffeur.

Have you ever wanted see Metallic, Megadeth and The misfits in a small club? Well, those days are long gone, but you can get the next best thing and see a killer tribute show from these bands! On Saturday 22, Fritzy’s will host the tribute masters of Cryptic writings (Megadeth), diaballic (Metallica) and The brain eaters (Unsuitable). While the thought of Dave Mustaine melts our spirits, now would be a good time to mention that Megadeth just announced their April 12 date at Broadmoor World Arena with lamb of god, Trivia and In fire!

About tribute bands, head to Boot barn hall on Saturday the 22nd for the sweet and epic sounds of Led Zeppelin played by Zepp-11. They are more than just a tribute band; they use their music for good. Founding Member Rico Colombo has always been in fundraising and contributing to the future. He has raised funds for Habitat for Humanity, Big Dog Brag, Fire Rehab, The Colorado Springs Children’s Museum and more. This event will also serve as a benefit for Angels of America’s Fallen. “Our Warriors’ children are the future that fully understands, more than almost anyone – the price of our freedom,” Colombo explains, “Our donation to their support is a way to invest in their future and ours as well.”
