Jimmy Buffett postpones Saturday’s Alpine Valley Music Theater show due to risk of severe weather


Just four hours before he took the stage at the Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, jimmy buffet had to cancel the show.

Buffett announced that his July 23 performance with the Coral Reefer Band at the East Troy Amphitheater had been canceled by local authorities due to “severe bad weather imminent.”

“No one wants to play cheese heads for you more than me and the Coral Reefers,” Buffett wrote in a Facebook post. “But, as a pilot, I understand not to play with bad weather. I also understand how important this show is to our fans who have waited and weathered this covid shit for us to perform. “We asked to play tomorrow, but we didn’t get permission.”

The group, however, postpones its concert to August 20 — “rain or shine”, promises Buffett.

“This gives some of you plenty of time to recover from three Phish shows to be ready for us,” Buffett wrote, referring to a Phish residency at the amphitheater Aug. 12-14.

Tickets already purchased will be honored.

Buffett isn’t the only big outdoor concert in the Milwaukee area on Saturday night.

Country Thunder continues its four-day run at Twin Lakes today, with Morgan Wallen headlining at 10 p.m. There were no indications of potential weather-related delays or cancellations. on the festival’s Facebook page.

and Alanis Morissette performs at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater at Maier Festival Park. This show is still scheduled to start at 7 p.m. with opening act Garbage, and the amphitheater forecourt doors open at 5 p.m., according to a post on the venue’s Facebook page.

“Officials are monitoring the weather and will notify fans of any delays or cancellations,” site officials wrote on Facebook.
