My Dress-Up Darling Sequel Announced With Festive Artwork

My Dress-Up Darling will be getting a sequel, and to celebrate the news, her mangaka Shinichi Fukuda is sharing an illustration of Gojo and Kitagawa.


The massive success of the winter 2022 anime season, My darling dressing, gets a sequel.


The My darling dressing The Twitter account revealed the news regarding the sequel while sharing a video that featured moments from the first series, including Black Lobelia and Liz the Succubus cosplays. While the post itself doesn’t confirm more than the fact that the sequel is currently in production, My darling dressing creator Shinichi Fukuda posted an illustration that shows Kitagawa and Gojo celebrating the news.

The lesson My darling dressing the manga series has started serialization in Square Enix Young Gangan magazine in January 2018 and at the time of writing, has produced nine volumes of content. The manga story follows Marin Kitagawa, who has a deep love for video games and anime, and Wakana Gojo, who has a secret passion for creating Hina dolls, as they combine his tenacity and skill in couture to pursue Kitagawa’s cosplay dream. Manga readers have purchased over seven million copies of My Dress-Up Darling worldwide.


My Dress-Up Darling Sequel Cast Not Confirmed Yet

CloverWorks’ first anime adaptation (Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia) originally aired its twelve episodes between January and March 2022, introducing a plethora of new fans to My beloved dressing. Keisuke Shinohara (Detective Conan: The Purple Love Letter) served as the show’s director along with Yoriko Tomita (Suppose a kid from the last Boonies dungeon moves to a starter town) writing the screenplay, Takeshi Nakatsuka (The greatest demon lord is reborn as a typical person) composing the music and Kazumasa Ishida (DARLING in the FRANXX) design the characters. It stars Hina Suguta (call of the night) as Kitigawa and Shōya Ishige (Lucifer and the Cookie Hammer) as Gojo, alongside Atsumi Tanezaki (The Bride of the Ancient Magus) like Sajuna Inui and Atsushi Ono (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) as Kaoru Gojo. At the time of writing, it has not been confirmed if the same cast and creative team are returning for the after.

While anime watchers will have to wait a while longer to see the continuation of Kitagawa and Gojo’s story, anyone can now easily catch up on the manga. Square Enix recently revealed that they have added My Dress-Up Darling in English to their Manga Up! application. Beyond Fukuda’s beloved series, the app offers over 140 English translations, including Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon? and Goblin Slayer.

The twelve episodes of the first My darling dressing anime are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
