I haven’t been by Gosh Comics from Berwick Street, Soho, London, in quite some time. Fortunately today, on the way to finally catch The king’s man, I did. The comic book store regularly updates its windows by asking designers to paint them from the inside, to show off their work and wares. One-off, individual advertisements, which will be deleted the next time there is a Free Comic Book Day or similar event. Here’s a look at the photos as they appear today. Aren’t they just wonderful?

Gosh Comics is one of the last two comic book stores in central London, along with Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue. With an emphasis on graphic novels, children’s comics, and ‘real mainstream’ comics, they cater to a more artistic and culturally diverse audience than the usual comic book store – well. May they always be full of this week’s superhero comics in the basement! They specialize in signed special editions and bookplates of graphic novels, and are also the only comic book store where you can buy The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black File through Alain moore and Kevin o’neill with the vinyl record it was always supposed to come with it. I’ve been shopping with them for… almost thirty years now, but they’ve been around since 1986. And I’ll take every excuse I can to jump in, browse, and buy the kind of comics you just don’t want to find anywhere else.
