Tinder introduces Music mode to spice up profiles

(Pocket-lint) – Tinder has teamed up with Spotify to bring a new music feature to their dating app.

Available in the Explore section of the app in the coming weeks, Music Mode lets users hear other members’ favorite songs as they browse profiles.

This will work if a member links a Spotify account and adds a “hymn” to their profile. The swiper should also activate Music mode in the Explore section.

“Now, with Music Mode, our members can experience that feeling when you are at a party and find that someone else likes the same songs as you,” said Kyle Miller, vice president of product innovation at Tinder.

“It’s amazing how adding music as an element of discovery elevates the whole experience on Tinder. The songs are deeply personal, and Music Mode is a place to spark something new through music. “

Tinder added its new Explore tab in September this year, which includes other new and innovative ways to find matches.

There are filters to make sure you only see verified members and groups segmented into interests – such as games, foodies, and music lovers.

Other new features will be tested under the Explore tab in the future, as Tinder seeks to expand beyond its swipe mechanism.
